About Spring Pilates Studio Wilmington...
At Spring Pilates Studio we strive to offer the highest level of instruction from the finest qualified Instructors. We provide safe, effective workouts in a fun, happy, informal atmosphere. Nothing stuffy here, we are all a big family, and we enjoy working out in a no-judgement zone!
Our Lead Instructor, Natalie Johnston, has been teaching Pilates in Wilmington since 2007. She has always dreamed of creating a beautiful, peaceful Boutique Studio, in which Pilates and other methods of exercise that complement Pilates could be taught. Natalie also wanted a place to showcase local artists, jewelers, clothing designers as well as have fun events and workshops. In late 2014, Natalie and her mother, Margo, decided to make this vision come true as a Mother/Daughter Team, and Spring Pilates opened doors on January 5, 2015. We are enjoying the variety of classes we offer, as well as the talented artists and designers that are making this vision come to life!
Natalie Johnston - Lead Pilates Instructor
Natalie discovered The Pilates Method while living in Chicago, Illinois, and it did not take her long to realize this was to become a lifelong commitment to the Method- and a healthful, rewarding career. She experienced major improvements in long-term spinal and hip issues and pain, as well as postural improvement and overall health, happiness and increased energy.
Natalie completed her certification in 2007 through Coastal Carolina Pilates Certification at In Balance Pilates Studio. The comprehensive program included over 225 hours of anatomy and physiology education as well as learning the entire Classical Pilates Method Repertoire. She has taught over 10,000 hours in the past 7+ years, and her energetic, no-nonsense anatomy/form based classes are always exciting and different. Natalie enjoys teaching students of all ages, fitness and mobility levels, and appreciates that every client has personalized needs and goals. She strives to guide her students to surpass their goals, working in safe, healthy ways.

Nicole Lancaster - Yoga
Nicole Lancaster discovered and began practicing yoga in 1995, the same year she began her training in massage and bodywork therapy. In 2008, after many years of dealing with chronic and debilitating back pain, she experienced profound healing through the practice of therapeutic yoga. This led her to seek training as a yoga teacher so that she could share this healing practice with others. Nicole leads a fun and energetic yoga class, teaching to all levels and encouraging students to enjoy playing in their physical bodies, while building awareness and connection to their inner life. Her almost twenty years as a massage and bodywork therapist informs her teaching style, helping students to find alignment and ease in asana.
Emily Burdette - Yoga
Emily walked in to her first yoga class in 2002 when it was the new "cool thing" to do. At the time, it didn't draw her in. Ten years later, after making a move to Wilmington to work in the film industry, she discovered the beauty of yoga. With time on her hands, she needed a focus. Going to class and moving through the flow was a comfort. After practicing consistently for a year and a half, Emily was encouraged by her instructor to obtain her Yoga Alliance 200 hour teaching certification. She believes that yoga is a journey of self-discovery. It teaches us compassion and gives us the ability to free ourselves from the confines of the mind. Emily strives to teach her students to feel the same change in themselves that she has felt in herself- both physically and spiritually, since embarking on her journey. She hopes to challenge students to experiment with new poses and be present in their bodies. Being a singer/songwriter, Emily loves to incorporate her music into her teaching. While in savasana, don't be surprised if the voice echoing beautifully in the studio is Emily's!
